Ms. Smith

When choosing to become a teacher, you’re taking an oath.  An oath that subjects you to all the advantages and disadvantages of the job.  Students will enter your classroom with invisible scars. Because of your oath to teaching, you provide those students when a safe haven, where they are free to explore their creativity.  Multiply your students times 2 and there you will have the parents of all your students. Your oath states that you must include your parents in their child’s educational experience. Because of your oath, you build a positive relationship,in order to assure student’s achievement.  You vow to wear multiple hats in your student’s lives. You promise to accommodate each and every need, whether big or small. You knock down all barriers they may come across. Lastly, you consider all aspects that we have no knowledge of coming into this career, but will quickly learn: managing the classroom, motivating students, dealing with individual differences, assessing students’ work, building relationships with parents, organizing class work, having insufficient and/or inadequate teaching materials and supplies, and dealing with problems of individual students.  I’ve taken and committed myself to this oath .”
